The reason why the two versions' Minus Worlds differ is due to the North American version using a cartridge and the Japanese version using a disk. Random Princess Peach and Bowser sprites seem to be scattered everywhere in the first level. it goes through three different levels until players reach the goal and the game ending. However in the Famicom Disk System version of the game, Minus World is completely different. After you reach the end of the level by entering the back, it warps you back to the start of the level, thus it is an effective softlock. In the original Famicom/NES version of the game, Minus World - 1 appears to be an infinitely looping 7-2 underwater level. uses a blank graphic for the number 36, which is why we can't see the world number. Originally, the world number would be 36, however Super Mario Bros. The same applies for levels 2 to 3, however, However World -4 is a black game over screen. World -1, the most famous of the minus worlds, is World 7-2, but the pipe loops the level. The Minus World is a world that you can get via World 1-2 by using a glitch where you can slide through blocks, incorrectly causing the game to think you are in the World 4 warp zone.
